Major Players: President Obama, John Podesta, Edward Snowden
Summary: This New York Times article describes the challenges that the Obama administration is facing in light of the Snowden affair. The president has called for a Privacy Bill of Rights for consumers, yet little action has been taken
Why This is a Concern: Even though the president has called for action to move forward with this Bill of Rights, there is little evidence that progress has been made in protecting the privacy of consumers who use the Internet. With the increase of identity theft, security breaches, etc., this does raise the level of fear among Americans who really are "sitting ducks" where these events are concerned.
